Busch Gardens

We spent this beautiful Easter Sunday celebrating with our family together at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA! It was also an early birthday celebration for Emily, and we all had an awesome time!

When you first get to the park, you have to be measured and get a colored bracelet to see what rides we were tall enough to ride on. Emily was devastated to find she was about 1/2” shy of the 52” cutoff, until she realized she had NO interest in going on any of those scary rides anyway!

The park was set up like the world, with many different countries you could go and visit, taste their local cuisines, and hear music and see dances from that area. There was France, England, Germany, Ireland and Italy to explore!

Good thing we had a map keeper!

When we got to the park, it was nice and quiet, so Abby and Dad headed straight for their first of MANY roller coaster rides…

IMG_2007

We all tried really hard to convince Emily to try them, but she was NOT having it…

IMG_2010

Can you find Abby & Dad in the back row? Unfortunately, this is the only big coaster picture Mom got since she was exploring other parts of the park with Ben & Emily…

IMG_2039

Emily and Ben thought starting out in Sesame Street on the Grover coaster would be a good start…

You’re never too old to see some Sesame Street friends!

Next, we hopped on the train and rode around the park to meet up with Dad & Abby to try ONE real coaster…

…and THAT was the end of the roller coasters for Emily that day… Smile

They should have called this ride the “crusher” because whoever was sitting on the outside, just got crushed into the corner on every turn!

We loved climbing in the big nets!

We went on a few boring rides too…

…but we still made it fun!

Ben and Emily should never get their driver’s licenses…

IMG_2179

This looked like it would be fun… but when your sister is in the back controlling the plane, it’s NOT!

The swings are still a favorite though, and these went high!

Mom took us on the spinning tea cups, and unfortunately, that ride whipped us around so much that her camera lens broke Sad smile . SO much for pictures with the good camera for the rest of the trip…

Check out the girl behind Emily & you can see how crazy this ride was too!

Abby & Dad rode the flume ride (they are in the front), while Emily stood on the bridge to get soaked!

Wine anyone?!?!?!?!

We enjoyed our cold Dipping Dots on this 70 degree day!

Mom & Dad enjoyed their snack too! Emily is following in Mom’s footsteps, and becoming quite the little photographer!

When you’ve had enough, you’ve had enough… This was our first family trip to a big park without a stroller, and while Ben did awesome, he definitely let us know when he’d called it a day… We had a blast though, and can’t wait to come back again sometime!
