A little bit of work and a lot of fun in May...

As we near the end of the school year, I picked up some subbing jobs in Emily's Science class & a 2 day job in one of our neighbor's classes... It's always interesting going into the schools, but a fun change!

My organizational skills come out strong in the Elementary schools!

I got this picture texted to me during Emily's science class... Middle school is quite different from Elementary school!

I've also been teaching my virtual childbirth classes weekly, and this little "helper" loves the planning time!

I also spent some time making daily cards for Ben's big EOG tests this year... His "encouragemints" must have worked, because he did great!

The summer is definitely approaching, and we've been having a blast hanging outside more with friends...

They are clearing some of the woods behind our house to put in a greenway, which will be awesome for walking, biking, and getting around town! We've had fun going back to check on their progress!

It's even encouraged quite a bit of tree cutting in our own yards!

Warm nights hanging out is awesome...

... and tiring! Bring on Summer!

Emily's 8th Grade Formal

Now that Covid is "over", they've brought back fun school events, and Emily got to go to her first formal dance to celebrate the end of 8th Grade. She looked beautiful & had so much fun with friends!

Emily's Last Band Concert

While we start wrapping up another school year, we're also celebrating the end of Emily's middle school days! We have loved attending all of her band concerts, and her last one was no different! Well done, Emily! We're so proud of you!

Her band teacher has been wonderful, and wrote a sweet note to the parents in the program...

Our neighbor & friend hasn't missed a single band concert in the past 6 years between Abby & Emily... She's a true supporter!

A few middle school concerts over the past 2 years (too bad 6th grade was virtual, and there weren't any that year...)

This concert had a bit of a twist... The kids got to put the names of whomever they wanted in a jar to be picked as a guest conductor for one of their pieces... and I got picked! It was a little nerve wracking, and I did terribly, but it was fun, and Emily loved having me there- even with my little dramatic flairs in conducting!

You can check out some embarrassing clips in this video:

Emily's grown a lot in the past 2 years... Thank you to Mr. Grimes for all his support on a job well done!

Great job Emily! We're so proud of you!

Solar Eclipse time!

How did YOU enjoy the 2024 solar eclipse?!?!?!?! We were all prepared with our approved glasses! It was hard to get a good shot this time, b...
