Ice skating fun!

Emily has been wanting to try ice skating for some time now, especially with the recent Olympics on, so we picked up a few of her friends for the afternoon and gave it a try...

Emily took to it right away, and did great!

One of her friends didn't exactly love it... good thing he could hang onto the wall!

Abby did awesome too! We should really do this more often... we had a blast!

I did pretty good too for not skating for a couple decades! None of us even fell! (Well, at least out of the girls :))

Emily's friend looked like he was getting graceful here, but he was really just falling awkwardly into the wall :)

We had a blast though, and this natural can't wait to go back!

Next birthday party... Olympics themed!

We have A LOT of birthday parties in the first couple months of the year to celebrate, and we continued with an Olympic Winter Games themed birthday party for our neighbor Audrey! We had fun minute to win it olympic games to play and had a blast! We always keep it fun and interesting on our block!

We starting with some "cross country skiing"...

The "ski jump"...

"Curling"...

"Ice hockey"...

"Snowboarding"...

We all got edible medals and olympic torches!

Audrey kept the cake "covid-clean" with her candle snuffer... We all had another great celebration together! Happy birthday Audrey!

Happy 15th Birthday!

We had a great time celebrating Abby's 15th birthday! She chose her birthday dinner of chicken enchiladas and a cake from our favorite bakery- Yellow cake with lemon buttercream and a raspberry mousse filling... It was heavenly!

On the weekend, we had a party with the neighbors, and Abby chose a repeat theme this year- Sushi! It was much more grown-up than her last sushi party, and we actually made some decent rolls this time!

I did buy some rolls just in case our own didn't turn out, but everyone was pretty happy with their experience!

It was nice to have our friend, Chef Matt at the party to give us a few tips too...

Leave it to Mr. Nick to make a sushi burrito...

We had some fun with sushi photo props...

Everyone was very generous with their gifts, and Abby's favorite was the long-awaited "crap bag" from our neighbor Taylor... she fills it with stuff she makes and finds from around her house. You never know what you're going to get!!!!

Mom made some sushi desserts to have with our cupcakes...

Abby had to go to bed early since her first day of Driver's Ed was the next morning, but Mr. Nick closed out the party as always...
