It’s been a year and a half since our mom has seen her brother and sister, so they decided to make it happen and meet our families up in Louisville, Kentucky for the weekend to catch up! Even though it’s been a while since they’ve seen each other, and that we’ve seen our cousins, once we were together, it felt like no time had passed at all! We love our midwestern family!
We got to sample some awesome BBQ for lunch, and we were even there at 12pm when the whole restaurant stood up for the singing of the National anthem!
Dad drove the “cool” kid car for the time we were together, and we cranked up the music with the windows down and had a blast with him!
The parents really wanted to take a tour of a bourbon distillery, so we tagged along to learn about the making and aging of this “HORRIBLE” drink in oak barrels… It really wasn’t that bad, and Ben seemed to really be interested!
After our bourbon tour, the grown ups figured we deserved some fun together in the pool, and we had a blast!
We ordered pizza to our room and hung out with all the cousins while the grown ups headed out for a night in the town of Louisville. They found an awesome tapas restaurant where they ordered and shared the whole left side of the menu together! Talk about a lot of food!
Some food was so good that they even forgot to take pictures until it was almost too late!
They walked for a bit before heading to a super weird art museum, but they still had a blast!
It was a great night out together!
