A Day of Exploring… Kentucky Adventure: Day 3

Our last day together in Kentucky was pretty rainy, so we found some inside exploring to do! The boys and Julia (the softball champ), headed downtown to check out the Louisville Slugger museum, while the moms and other girls headed to the mall for some shopping!

We finally got to try Dragon’s Breath too… a weird corn puff, liquid nitrogen, kind of treat that makes it look like you are a dragon breathing fire when you eat it! Who comes up with these things?!?!?!?!

After our separate adventures, we met up for lunch and then were off to explore the Louisville Mega Cavern! It was cold, bumpy, and pretty boring, but we all did amazing!

Our tram tour guide spent a lot of time showing us all the OTHER fun things we could have done in the cave… like these zipliners!

And we found out that most of the road salt for the area is stored deep in the caves… Glad we know that one now!

We watched a horrible, old video about radiation exposure and how the cave was ready to be used as a fallout shelter during the Cuban missile crisis, even though it wasn’t… Again, we weren’t too interested…

We were so bored, even Ben fell asleep!

After our cave adventure, we split up again, and Dad took the kids for more ice cream! The grown up car was feeling left out, so they stopped at their own place!

We wrapped up our day with another dip in the pool, sushi for dinner, and a night chilling together in the hotel!

We had an awesome trip together, and made so many fun memories to last us until we can be together again! We love you guys!
