Our beach trip with friends: Day 2

Day 2 at the beach started early with Miss Sara teaching us how to catch crabs off the dock with a piece of string, a little weight and some disgusting chicken necks…

Mommy was the only one to catch anything, and Abby was an expert “netter” to scoop them up, but we had to throw everything back since the two blue crabs were busy mating and the stone crab was pregnant… Mom’s inner doula must have attracted them!

Kinsey wasn’t too sure about the crabs…

42

Emily, on the other hand, got right in there so she could feel what they were like…

We found a few hermit crabs too!

We even caught a little fish!

Ben didn’t like that we had to throw the fish back…

52

After lunch, we headed over to the point where we got to swim in the calm waters of the bay and play in the sand!

Ben found some awesome sand and shells at the beach!

When we got back from the point, we decided to swim in the bay, but it was hard to find the courage to jump since we knew all those fish and crab were down there from that morning… Emily kept trying to push Abby in, and that did NOT go over too well…

62 63

Kinsey pinky promised that she would go in if Abby did it first… Of course that never happened, but while they were talking it out and looking for some bravery, Emily was taking matters into her own hands!

64

She was the first to just jump right in! So proud of this girl!

65

Abby couldn’t have her sister showing her up, so that was all the motivation that was needed…

After finding our nerves, we got to go tubing while Miss Sara’s Uncle Paul pulled us from his boat! It was all fun and games until the raft flooded with water and Emily went overboard… it might be a while before she gets back on…

It was another awesome day filled with fun memories!
