Oak Island: Day 1

We were given the opportunity again this year to go on a 3-day "mom/kid" trip to my friend, Sara's, beach house, and in true style, we picked yet another terrible weather week to go. I'm not sure I've ever been to the beach where we were just missing, just ahead of, or just plain IN a hurricane! We are getting pretty good at adapting our activities though, and still manage to have a wonderful time whenever we go!

Packing looked a little different this year, and we definitely took precautions... We drove our own cars, slept in our own beds, didn't share food, and washed our hands A LOT.

This kid is definitely my biggest beach lover...

As soon as Emily saw this picture I got of her, this is how she wanted me to post it...

There were definitely some storms brewing...

... but we also managed to find some beautiful weather moments too...

We enjoyed heading over to Uncle Paul's house each night for some crabbing, swinging in the breeze and popsicles!

Abby enjoyed beading and braiding the girls' hair for some "beachy" looks!

Buddies...

Day 1 success!
