Quarantine: Week 1

Who knows how many days it's "technically" been, but school is out starting this week, so we're counting it as week 1...

Things are starting to get crazy and stressful for everyone, so we're just going to put this out there:

Social distancing is not always easy, but let's keep it in perspective:
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

We can do that... especially with some awesome movies on Disney Plus!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

We have lots of time on our hands these days... even enough to put this many braids in your hair, just so you can wake up with a new hairstyle:
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

The rest of Disney has gone down too... good thing we got our trip in when we did!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

We found this to be funny early in the week, but in only a few days time, ALL the restaurants that remained open moved to curbside pick up, so it wasn't that crazy at all!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

Some early numbers and what we've learned...
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

This is when you know it's getting REALLY real... In fact, I wish I had known about this a little earlier and had planned better for Emily's birthday in a couple weeks! It's proving a bit difficult to do birthday shopping without stores open, and delivery taking a lot longer...
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

Let's all take a minute of self-reflection and take a deep breath...
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

I had to sign on from home to watch my co-workers figure out how to teach childbirth education
on the web... it turns out it's not so easy... Good thing I don't have to worry about that right now... I've taken a break from my classes for a bit.
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

Before our virtual classrooms get set up for school, we started with a few fun things online... Who knew I was going to become a 2nd grade teacher, but here I am!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

"Gym class" has become a family walk in the neighborhood or a hike in our backyard... Ben found this tree and was sure that someone from "Naked and Afraid" was living behind our house! The lessons back there are endless, and our search for tadpoles was NOT hard this time of year!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

"Art class" this week included some tie-dying of t-shirts in the backyard that we've been meaning to do for a while...
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

We've been taking advantage of the "family time" (aka- mandatory quarantine) and playing games, going on walks and hanging out together!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

We've been busy Facetiming and catching up with family and friends too!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

We can still "socialize" out in the driveway, but we are all at least 6 feet apart now... That's been a tough one for me since I'm an entertainer by nature and just want everyone here all the time. BUT, if you bring your own shot glass and put it in the middle, Brian will still fill it up!
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

Basically, this is my goal for week 1:
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

And some positive vibes looking to our germ-free future when this is over:
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

Hang in there everyone!
