Driving permit in the house #2!

What does the process for getting a driver's permit look like in NC these days????

- 30 hours of online class instruction for 2 weeks in December
- A 7 month wait to get in with a driving instructor at a DIFFERENT school (Covid still has everything so backed up)
- 4 days and 6 hours of driving with an instructor over the 4th of July holiday
- Trip to the highschool office during the summer to get a permit eligibility certificate
- 6 different DMV stops over the course of 2 days (1 was closed, long lines at 4, kicked out of 1 for lunch and another at the end of the day due to closing time...)
-4.5 hours spent driving to and from different DMV offices
- 10.5 hours waiting at various DMV’s over 2 days (luckily, only 2 hours of that was in the 90+ degree heat, and they finally let us wait in our air-conditioned cars)
- 6 "Criminal Minds" episodes watched in the car while waiting
- 1 mad dash to the ATM for cash since the DMV system went down
- 1 near missed appointment to the desk because of lovely miscommunication among DMV staff
-1 computerized permit test that was NAILED with a quick AND perfect score on the first try!

All of these adventures ended with one beautiful permit for this amazingly excited driver! Stay safe Emily, and we are so proud of you!
