I just had my very first swimming lesson, and I LOVED it! Mommy promised our GG that she would use her Christmas money this year for our lessons, and we wish she was still around so we could show her how awesome we did on our very first day! Mommy’s friend does private lessons in her pool, so we got extra special attention and learned a lot!

This pool is way bigger than ours, so I was a little nervous to go in at first, but I was brave and did it anyway!
We started with blowing bubbles, but I don’t think our teacher knew how much I like to have my face in the water!
But I showed her right away!
I had to practice blowing bubbles AND kicking my legs while trying to SWIM! That’s WAY too much to do at one time, but I’ll figure it out soon…
I couldn’t wait to take my float off… I kind of sank to the bottom, but I didn’t care at all!
I kept trying though!
Next, we worked on “relaxing” into the back float so I can rest if I get tired, but it’s not easy to get the hang of…
The girls had to show me what to do…
And it STILL wasn’t easy… I’ll have to work on that one!
Despite what this looks like, I was smiling and laughing the whole time…
Forget the back float… I just wanted to swim!
I had an AWESOME first lesson. Thanks Ms Jen!
After my lesson, it was the girls turn! They had to start by practicing keeping their legs straight while they kick. It’s not as easy as it sounds…
Emily just wanted to spend the whole time with her face in the water, just like me! We had to keep reminding her to come up for air!
Next, the girls practiced their little kicks with kickboards across the pool…
We look like pros already!
The girls got to practice their back floats too… Abby is pretty close to getting it…
Emily on the other hand…
She’s getting it, but she may have fallen asleep…
The next lesson was learning the freestyle stroke and “cupping” our hands…
Looks like both girls are getting it here!
Not all swimming shots make us look like pros…
We got to end our lesson with a few jumps off the diving board! Abby was the only one with the energy to do it today, but she did great!
She even came out of the jump trying her new strokes!
And even tried a butterfly back stroke! We all had such an awesome time and can’t wait to go back next week!
This weekend, we went for a picnic at the lake with our dad, and took him to the movie theatre to see the movie “Inside Out”. We also showered him with some new clothes for work and A LOT of homemade cards (mostly by Emily)! He said it was a very special weekend! Happy Father’s Day Daddy! We love you!
We all had some good stuff to say about our awesome Dad…
Emily even made him a special card at school!
For Brian's birthday this year, Nannie & Grandpa came for a quick visit and we went out for one of his favorite dinner experiences.....
