We’ve been planning this special trip to Great Wolf Lodge with our Chicago friends for SIX whole months, and although it went a little differently than we had planned, we still enjoyed ourselves. Everyone’s been having a really rough winter with snow, and unfortunately, Drew’s family got stuck in Chicago and couldn’t make it for the weekend. We kept on going though and enjoyed 2 days and 2 nights in the Lodge, swam all day, played on the waterslides, tried out the “MagicQuest” game, watched the Superbowl, and even celebrated Abigail’s 7th birthday together!
Mommy’s always making us take pictures BEFORE we get to swim…
Enough already!
Emily could go on all but one slide this year, and she did great… over and over again!
Abigail was tall enough to earn a YELLOW bracelet & go on EVERY SINGLE waterslide this year! She’s getting SO big…
Ben loved watching his sisters on the big slides…
… and he enjoyed the toddler pool and slide too!
We may have pushed it a bit too far when we tried to get him go down the slightly bigger, little kid slide…
He ended back up in the room a few minutes later, and never really liked the pool again…
Good thing we brought some trains for Superman to play with… That cheered him right up!
Ben & Emily hung out in the “Cub Club” and colored some awesome pictures!
We used some of our Wolf Bucks on the “MagiQuest” game. It’s an awesome scavenger hunt throughout the hotel with many different adventures & treasures to find…
We grabbed our pink wand and our ancient book of wisdom, and headed out to find the treasures…
The first morning, we woke up to 6 inches of fresh snow, and we had an awesome “vacation cereal” breakfast in our room that Mommy decorated for Abigail’s birthday.
We even brought our presents for her to open!
Everyone got goody bags for the party, and loved playing with everything (Drew, Violet & Cole… we’ll mail yours out to you )
Mommy even got a picture of the hall lobby clock at ALMOST 4:02pm, which was Abigail’s official birthday (which everyone in the waterpark knew about from her screaming celebration for herself)…
It was kind of awesome hanging out in our bathing suits and being able to watch the snow fall outside!
Waterslides are AWESOME!
Ben went back in the pool for a few minutes the second day, but not past his knees!
Daddy’s hands are full these days!
This was the girls “teenager pose”.
Best friends forever
The waterpark was so much cooler from a distance for Ben!
He’d rather be in the room hanging out with Mommy…
… but Daddy was so much more fun!
He also loved exploring around the lodge…
The sign of a good time… falling asleep before lunch even made it to the table!
Packing up isn’t so bad when you get to play on the cart!
Our drive home was a bit slippery at times, and we had 8 inches of snow when we got back, but Daddy got us home safely! Thanks for another AWESOME family vacation!
