Mommy needed a vacation, so she decided to fly down to Las Vegas for 4 days to meet Daddy at his work conference. They had so much fun together, and she came back home so refreshed! Supposedly they say, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, but Mommy & Daddy aren’t big drinkers or gamblers and were in bed by 10pm every night, so they thought they’d be safe to share some pictures from their trip! (Se only brought her iPhone though, so the pictures aren’t all the best quality…)
Mommy started off having lunch in the airport BY HERSELF! She said she felt so much like a grown-up!
She had a wonderful (but long) flight, and took a bunch of pictures from the plane for us to see… She got nice ones of the cloud blankets…
… The Rocky Mountains…
… The beautiful sunset…
… and her landing in Vegas.
Right outside of the plane was the first of MANY slot machines she would see on her trip!
They stayed at the Venetian, which was BEAUTIFUL!
They had a river running through the middle of the hotel with gondola rides!
The hotel room was magnificent! Mommy’s favorite part of the trip was the first morning when she got to sleep until she decided to get up, have coffee in her bathrobe, watch GROWN-UP morning television & take a shower without anyone screaming or knocking down the door! She said it was like heaven!
Mommy and Daddy headed out to explore the strip and found some amazing hotels. The map made everything look so close, but Mommy assured us that NOTHING was close… they did A LOT of walking!
They stopped off in Caesars Palace, and saw a lot of really big, naked statues. (Vegas is so weird…)
They had an aquarium in the middle of their hotel!
Mommy wanted to see a few Vegas wedding chapels along the way…
The Palazzo was getting all ready for the Christmas Season…
One of the highlights of the trip was seeing The Paris Hotel. Their Eiffel Tower is half the size of the original, but it was pretty big! Mommy & Daddy even took a ride to the top to get a good look at the Vegas strip.
They could see the Bellagio & the fountains…
They even found a cool castle hotel they knew we would like…
The Paris is a beautiful hotel!
Inside, you feel like you are walking the streets of Paris, and could do some expensive shopping…
… but Mommy liked the bakery best!
There were a lot of really cool street performers as they walked down the strip.
The Bellagio was pretty amazing too! They were still decorated for fall and it was beautiful!
… the candy shop was getting ready for Christmas though!
Mommy & Daddy went to a very fancy restaurant in the hotel that night before their show, and Mommy had to see what “gourmet” buffalo wings were like. They are her new favorite food, and she was VERY impressed!
Mommy & Daddy saw the Cirque Du Soleil performance of “O” (their aquatic show) that night. They said it was really weird, but amazing!
Outside that night, they watched the Bellagio water fountain light show. It was so neat!
The next day, they hitched a bus to explore Downtown Vegas, and started at “Circus Circus” where Daddy went as a kid, and Nannie & Grandpa stopped over on their honeymoon. It wasn’t quite the grand hotels on the strip, but they said we would LOVE it! It had circus acting going on, tons of arcade games, and a full amusement park with a rollercoaster INSIDE the hotel!
They stopped to have lunch at the top of the Stratosphere, but it turns out they were closed until dinner time… Oh well… at least they got to see someone jump off the top! Good thing they were harnessed… it’s so high!
When they got to Freemont street, they walked around, had lunch, and saw a crazy restaurant…
If you’re over 350lb, you get to eat at the “Heart Attack Grill”. You have to weigh yourself before going in, and the signs out front said “Cash Only, because you might die before the check clears” and “Caution: This establishment is bad for your health”!
That night for dinner, they headed to the Wynn for their buffet, which came highly recommended by Mor-Mor. It was great… especially the desserts!
Before their show that night, Mommy did a little video poker and won $10! She was so excited! (We told you they aren’t big gamblers…)
Earlier in the day, they got 1/2 price tickets to the show, “Rock of Ages” that night, and it was so much fun!
This is the one and ONLY shot to prove Mommy & Daddy were there! They had an awesome time, but were ready to head home to see us.
On the way home, they flew over the Grand Canyon…
And saw the Empire State building lit up in purple for World Prematurity Day!
Meanwhile back home, Bridget had everything under control, and actually got ALL of us dressed, fed & out the door for school ON TIME! She even had time to snap a picture to prove it! We had a great time with her, and Mommy & Daddy were very impressed & thankful for her!
On Friday night, Nannie & GG came to take over, and Emily had SO much fun playing Mario on the Wii with GG! She’s pretty good for a great-grandma!
Thank you to everyone for your help and for the fun time while Mommy and Daddy were out gallivanting for the weekend!
