My very first recipe!

I’ve been wanting to try baking my own apple pie for a while now, and today was the day! I came up with my own recipe (I asked mommy a few questions, but almost the whole thing was my own idea)! It turned out GREAT (except, I think I’ll use a little more sugar next time). Enjoy!

First, you need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees…

Then, you have to wash all of the apples…

… and slice them… (it was my idea to add a green one too for a little “sour” taste)

Next, you need to squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice in (or a whole lemon, in my case)…

… and a touch of fresh orange juice too…

Don’t forget to taste your ingredients before adding them to the pie… especially the sugar!

Add some sugar and cinnamon…

I wanted to add some water, but Mommy said that apples get juicy when they cook, so she helped me figure out something to thicken it up with… flour!

When your filling is ready, unroll your pie crust, prick the bottom, pour in the apples, and “dot it” with some butter…

Then you can make the top crust as fancy as you want!

Pinch together the ends, and make it look pretty with a fork!

Watch it bake in the oven, and enjoy the wonderful smell!

Voila! Add a bit of whipped cream and some berries (my personal touch), and enjoy!
