Things have been slower again the past two weeks, which is a nice change of pace... The news hasn't changed much, and unfortunately that means the virus hasn't changed much either, but we're still plugging away and making the best of it here!

The current heat wave we've been in has definitely made us stay in our house more, except when we sneak out to the neighborhood pool! But seriously... a heat index of 109???

People are still shutting down again after trying to open up, and even Trump said it's about to get worse, which must mean it's REALLY bad... I just hope things turn direction soon!

Abby & I decided to focus on motivation and exercise instead, and we re-did the art on our white board in the gym!

I also took advantage of the hot weather keeping us in, and I decided to paint our mudroom with whatever leftover painting supplies and paint I could find in the basement... It was a fun project and looks great!

Brian's even had time to work on perfecting his old fashioned recipe, and has gotten to experiment with his smoking gun!

The cases are still going up in many places, but we are slowly starting to see a flattening trend in many areas... fingers crossed!

I know so much of the news these days isn't exactly accurate, and this one doesn't seem too real, but one could always hope, right?!?!?! My whole family would be golden if this was true!

Sad news that the state fair is going to be cancelled, but surprisingly, their food truck came to our neighborhood for the whole weekend so we could still get our funnel cakes!

Brian, Abby & I tried our hand at controlling the virus in our game of "Pandemic", and we barely made it, but we did it! Hopefully, real life will follow soon!

The highlight of these two weeks was Abby's awesome orthodontist appointment... She went in with a mask...

... and came out with a beautifully straight smile! She's been waiting for this day for 1 year and 8 months, and it was finally here!

She's grown up a lot in a year and a half! And she has a stunning smile now too!

Brian and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary a little bit different this year. Last year we were exploring the streets of Montreal, and this year we had our first date night out at a restaurant in the past 4+ months! The masks were a "different" accessory, the rules at the restaurant were a bit intimidating, the online menu was convenient and the specialty drink list was hilarious! It was so nice to spend the evening outside together and feel a little bit normal again (once the masks were off)!
