Trolley Pub time!

The grown ups enjoyed a date day in downtown Raleigh to celebrate a bunch of their February birthdays... they peddled around on a trolley pub and made a few fun stops! This group sure knows how to have fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! We celebrated this year with a few goodies, homemade fortune cookies and heart-shaped Lou Malnati's pizza from Mor-Mor! Thank you for our special surprise!

Sick days...

We have had quite a month here of kids being sick... Ben missed 2 weeks of school, Emily one week, and Abby was only down for a weekend... The winter germs have been horrible around here, but I think we're finally on the other side! There was A LOT of sleeping going on around here! 

... and a whole lot of Tylenol!

We knew things were turning around when everyone back to eating donuts from dad (even if it WAS over the puke bowl just in case...)!

Superbowl Sunday Fun

We always enjoy celebrating the Superbowl with our friends, but it is well-known in the hood that we are not the "sportiest" family out there. So this year we just embraced it, and went for the food and the commercials!

Happy 13th birthday Abigail

We can't believe it has been 13 years since you have blessed our lives! You are growing into a beautiful young woman, and we are so proud of you! Happy birthday Abigail!

We had a baked potato bar neighbor get-together to celebrate!

Abby's gift request this year was a full sized bed in her room!

She had a sleepover with her best friend, and they spent a few hours at the mall together... trying on prom dresses just for fun!

The big deal about turning 13 in our house is that you FINALLY get to sit in the front seat! Mom is the car seat safety Nazi around here, and explained that children under the age of 13 shouldn't sit in the front because their facial bones haven't finished ossifying (fancy medical term for hardening...) yet. Abby's been looking forward to her "ossification date" for a LONG time now, and was excited (and slightly embarrassed) to celebrate it with a special shirt and a ride around town next to Mom!

And there's the 13-year-old attitude we all know and "have to" love!
