Our house has been nothing but baseball for a couple weeks here, as the Cubs made it into the World Series! Mommy doesn’t usually watch much, and when she does, she doesn’t get overly excited, but man, did she embrace her Chicago roots and cheer them on this year! The Cubs came back from a 3-1 deficit to play a historic and unbelievable game 7 of the World Series against the Cleveland Indians…
Maybe her passion for the Cubs goes back to high school when she got to throw out the first pitch at a Major League game in Wrigley Field…
Daddy was away on business, and Mommy didn’t want to watch alone, so she watched and paced, bit her nails and stress ate, cheered and celebrated with our neighbors who turned out to be die hard Cubbies fans! After going an extra inning and coming back strong after a rain delay at MIDNIGHT, the Cubs finally won their first championship in 108 years, and it turns out they waited to do it on Daddy’s 40th birthday! Mommy celebrated with the right people… they had a champagne toast and everything! She sure wished Daddy was there too, but she Facetimed him at the end, so he could see the win too!
Mommy was pretty excited to have found a little Chicago spirit right on our block all the way in North Carolina!
Today, one of Mommy's friends here, found this awesome deal at a bakery down here, so we headed out to claim our cupcakes for $1.08 and had a party after school!
Ben and Mommy even treated themselves to new Cubs hats today to celebrate!
“Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you day? The Cubs won the World Series today!!!!!”
