Time to fix my teeth

We found out in January that I somehow have gotten several cavities, and after a few consultations, everyone decided that it would be best to fix my issues all in one day at the hospital, under general anesthesia. It turns out that it was a good decision, because I ended up having EIGHT cavities, needed 3 baby root canals, and got two silver caps! I hope (and so do Mommy & Daddy), that this will be the end of my tooth troubles, and I can’t wait to see what the tooth fairy will bring me in a few years when I lose these silver teeth! Thank you for all the prayers!

I got to bring my favorite dog, Fuzzy, in the OR with me, and he even got his own ID bracelet to wear around his neck so he didn’t get lost!

I wasn’t thrilled about all the activity, and was nervous, but Mommy & Daddy said I did great!

Mommy even got to come into the OR with me until I fell asleep!

Mommy & Daddy had to wait in the waiting room for TWO HOURS and watch my number on the board to see when I was done. They said it felt like FOREVER…

 

I DID NOT wake up from my anesthesia very well, and was doing a lot of flailing and crying, but sitting with Mommy and watching Frozen helped a bit…

I couldn’t WAIT to get dressed and go home!

Off to recover at home! Thank you everyone for the well wishes and prayers! Maybe someday when I don’t feel embarrassed anymore, I’ll show you my new shiny teeth… For now, I ‘m keeping my mouth closed!

When Abby got home from school, she and a girl from her class made me a get well card!

Introducing Madelyn Elizabeth Myer

Mommy went to Long Island this weekend to try her first “real” newborn photoshoot with our new cousin, Madelyn. She was SO sweet & awesome, and slept through almost the whole thing! Maybe Mommy will add this to her services after she practices a bit more!

You would never guess that it actually looked like this!

My First Trip to the Dentist!

Today was my first trip to the dentist, and I really don’t know what the big deal was all about! No one thought I would cooperate and get in the chair, let alone let them come near my mouth or even brush my teeth, but I showed them! And I found out I have TWENTY healthy cavity-free teeth! I wish Emily had the same mouth I do…

I really don’t like people with gloves on, so the hygienist let me try some on myself, so they weren’t so scary anymore.

Then she showed me all of her cool instruments, and they weren’t scary at all!

I was a tiny bit nervous when my chair started moving…

… but I warmed right up to it, kicked my feet up and got nice and comfortable for my cleaning!

Their toothbrush is pretty tickly, but I loved the strawberry toothpaste!

There’s even a special sink to fill up my cup of water and swish and spit!

I LOVE my new toothbrush and my big boy floss… now if I could just figure out how to use it…

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

Mommy is so glad that the shirts they bought for us when they were Ireland last summer still fit! Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone!

We love our new cousin!

We FINALLY got to go meet Madelyn this weekend, and we were SO excited! Ben has been asking every 5 minutes if we could go to Madelyn’s house, and he was just as excited to meet her when we got there! She is going to get A LOT of attention from us!

Nannie and Grandpa now have FIVE grandchildren! We’re keeping them busy!

We couldn’t wait to get our hands on her…

Emily was SO excited to be the first one to hold her!

She was amazed at how tiny her hands were…

Abigail is a natural! She’ll be ready to babysit in no time!

 

The kids loved sharing their gifts they brought for her, and Emily picked out her first doll…

We even recorded our voices reading a book to her! Mommy was so frustrated while we were making it, but it turned out great, and now she can hear our voices anytime she wants to!

Ben was the biggest surprise of the day! We knew he was excited to meet her, but we had no idea how gentle and loving he would be!

 

Daddy was even able to hold her for a few seconds in between passes!

And so did Mommy!

She was pretty sleepy, but she was sweet enough to show us her eyes a couple of times!

I think she’d had enough of us passing her around, but she did great and is SO cute! We can’t wait until we see her again!
