NC State Move-In Day!

It is crazy how fast time flies! One day I'm dropping my baby off for her first day of preschool, and the next, I'm leaving her in the dorm as she begins her next big adventure! Sure, there have been plenty of wonderful moments in between that I will cherish forever, but I'm not sure how we've gotten here so quickly...

Here was my car packing crew...

We filled the van up pretty quickly!

Abby's second mom & wonderful neighbor, Miss Kari, slipped some home baked goodies into her seat to bring with her to the dorm...

... Our tribe of supporters were all dressed and ready to say goodbye to her, and waited up the street with a special sign they made! If that doesn't make you cry, I don't know what will...

This is what her room looked like before moving in her stuff...

Luckily, I got to stay up in the room to clean and make the bed so I didn't have to do all the trips up and down!

Brian got right to work putting together shelves...

After meeting her roommate quickly when we arrived, we took Abby out to lunch so we could have a break and they could move in the next batch of stuff. We went to one of Abby's favorite spots downtown for dumplings and bao buns, and the waiter even gave her NC State colored flowers to wish her luck!

The room came together nicely, and looks a lot more homey than when she arrived!

It wasn't easy to leave, but seeing how excited she is for this next adventure softened the blow! We love that she's still close to home, and know we will seeing her a lot. Good luck Abigail... and we're only a phone call, text, or short Uber ride away!!!!

A Day at the Museum

With move-in day at NC State quickly approaching, Abby wanted to get in touch with her inner child again, so we spent a fun afternoon with our younger neighbors at the Durham Life & Science Museum. It was just as much fun as bigger kids than when they were younger!

On the interactive map of the world, we found our house, the kids schools and more!

Bryce was a pretty decent astronaut for our pretend space shuttle mission!

The treehouse obstacle course is always a hit!

Bugs & butterflies galore!

The dinosaur trail is always everyone's favorite part of the trip!

We were all tired of all the walking by the end... Ben is such a sweet brother!

But even he needed some rest...

Everyone loved graphing their height... Ben has officially moved to the end of the line!

Emily killed the moon walk!

Abby and Taylor had a blast with the light wall, and they even filled it with her name! Thanks for an awesome, fun-filled afternoon to the Ties family!

Date Night

Brian's been traveling quite a bit lately, so when he's in town, we've been enjoying some date nights, family nights & even ...
