We've been planning our next big Beach/Myer family trip for a while now, and it was finally time to meet up in Puerto Rico and enjoy some vacation time together!
We were greeted by some real Macaw's in the resort when we arrived!
The lobby of the resort where Nannie & Grandpa used their timeshare points was beautiful!
And I LOVED the view of the beach from the room Brian and I got alone!!!! It was the perfect place for my morning coffee or an afternoon escape!
Kevin was admiring the view from the master room that the kids all stayed in with Nannie and Grandpa... the beach and the pool was definitely calling to us!
We went out to a nice restaurant at the resort on our first night together to celebrate Nannie and Grandpa's upcoming 50th anniversary!
Happy Anniversary!
Our celebration on the 4th of July started with some drinks on the beach... and of course a lot of sand, sun, swimming & sand dollars!
Back in the pool for the afternoon, we had a blast at the swim up bar together!
Fun with Uncle Kevin
The evening was spent together hanging out on the balcony for a spectacular fireworks show!
Check out our front row seats to the fireworks!
The dads took Liam and Abby into town the next day for an authentic Puerto Rican meal for lunch, and some fancy pineapple drinks!
Meanwhile, back on the beach, Bridget & I enjoyed our favorite lunch of pork carnita quesadillas with some refreshing "Alex Special" drinks!
After another long day at the beach and pool, we dressed up for dinner out in town, and snapped a few family pictures while we were waiting for our ride!
The local restaurant was definitely running on "vacation time", but the views were beautiful, and it was a wonderful way to enjoy the evening together!
Early the next morning, we headed out for our boat excursion with snorkeling, a picnic on the boat, and swimming at the famous Flamenco Beach!
The boat ride was WAY longer than we thought, and the crew up front were in for a bumpy ride, but to me... nothing beats a morning boat ride!
Emily and Maddie enjoyed a quick snooze on the way there...
Bridget was terrified of sharks this whole trip, and with all the fun we were having with AI lately, we just had to show her the shark we "found" swimming right off the boat!
When we arrived at our destination, we were given snorkeling equipment and headed out to the reef to see what we could find. It was so much fun (even though I didn't get any pictures of the fish)!
After snorkeling and a picnic on the boat, we headed out into the clear, warm waters off Flamenco beach for some floating, some cocktails, and a lot of fun!
Jumping off the boat was definitely a highlight for the kids!
The ride home shows how hard we played!
Everyone was exhausted when we got back, so we opted for a quiet night in the room, making dinner on our own, hanging out, and watching Abby's graduation video together. It was a great time remembering so many fun times we've spent together.
Our last day together was spent relaxing at the pool and the beach once more, followed by a night out to dinner for the adults.
This was our favorite dinner of the trip, in an equally beautiful restaurant! It was a wonderful way to wrap up our time together!
Thank you again to Nannie & Grandpa for making this trip happen! We are so thankful for the time we get to spend together, and have added some unforgettable memories to our family story. We love you, and can't wait for the next trip!
