Biking at the lake in January

 January has some pretty nice days in the South... Even nice enough to pack a picnic, put on a short sleeved shirt & go for a bike ride at the lake with Mom!

An afternoon hike in the backyard!

We can’t believe we have lived here almost 3 years already, and Mom has NEVER been hiking in the backyard woods with us! She has a SLIGHT fear of creepy, crawly, slithery things, so she has managed to keep herself away from anything beyond the gate, but we finally dragged her out, and she LOVED it!!!

We found a lot of different tracks, but thankfully nothing that scared Mom away!

Ben found a lot of sand, rocks, leaves, pinecones and shells to collect!

Now Mom knows why she makes us wear our boots back there! There’s a pretty creek that runs through the property, but it does make it a tad muddy!!! Emily even got stuck!

Emily has heard a lot about the “Birdbox” movie, and without seeing it, she nailed the impersonation!

Fallen trees make for the best fun!

Straightening Time!

I’ve been waiting for this day for years, and I finally got my braces! The first week was a bit rough, with a lot of pain, cuts in my mouth, and mashed potatoes, but I’m used to them now, and straighter days are ahead of me! –Abigail

Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year with good friends, and a fun celebration filled with food, drinks, photo prop pictures, games, minute-to-win-it challenges, balloon drops, hours of fun on the trampoline, and more! Happy New Year to all, and thank you to our friends for making our celebration so fun!

Everyone made it to midnight, but just by the skin of their teeth!

We should have known the first doorbell ring of the year would be from Miss Ashley… right after midnight! It’s going to be a good year around here!

Family Time with the Myers!

We had so much fun with our cousins, Aunt Bridget, Uncle Kevin, Nannie & Grandpa! They came for a short visit after Christmas and before New Years, and it was amazing how beautiful it was! One day, it was almost 70 degrees, so we took our cousins with us to enjoy a day in downtown Raleigh at Pullen Park, The Morgan Street Food Hall, The Boxcar Arcade, the Milk Bar for ice cream, and we even had time leftover to hang outside riding scooters, and spending some time with the neighbors! We love “winters” in the South even more when we can share them with family!

 

When Nannie, was here, we got to take her out to lunch and saw the new “Mary Poppins” movie!

Our time together ended with an epic game of Harry Potter trivia pursuit! Abby CLEARLY is the most up-to-date on her Hogwarts facts! Maybe next time, Aunt Bridget & Uncle Kevin… Probably not, but maybe…
