We’ve been in our house for almost a month, and Mom has been busy unpacking, organizing, decorating and making it feel more like “home”! Mor-Mor spent the week here last week, and they kept themselves VERY busy shopping for some furniture pieces and a lot of little decorations… Mom & Dad even got a few date nights while she was here. Thanks for everything Mor-Mor!
We still have a long way to go, and some rooms aren’t even unpacked yet, but it’s coming along! So here’s what everyone has been asking for… a tour of our house!
When you first walk in the red, front door, to the left is the unfinished basement, and to the right is Dad’s office…
His office is one of those rooms that hasn’t been unpacked, and we haven’t bought furniture yet, so Mom likes to keep the doors closed
When you walk past his office, you find yourself in our dining room!
From the two doors ahead of you when you are in the dining room, the one on the right takes you to a guest bedroom and bathroom…
This is where Mor-Mor & Nannie stay when they come in town to visit!
When you come out of that hallway after leaving the bedroom, you will see another hallway which will take you to the stairs, the kitchen, the family room or the mudroom…

We love our new breakfast, lunch & dinner nook!
Off of the “nook” is our screened in porch…
Back in the kitchen…
The kitchen island overlooks the family room and the beautiful stone fireplace…
Except for the mudroom (which Mom forgot to take a picture of and still needs a bit of work), that’s the whole first floor… Now it’s time to head upstairs…
At the top of the stairs to your right, is our playroom, which Mom has NO idea how to organize and decorate, so she’s totally up for suggestions!
When you walk out of the playroom, you will be looking down this hallway…
You will pass our laundry room (which Mom LOVES having upstairs, but she needs to decorate…)
Then you will come to the hall (and Ben’s) bathroom at the end of the hall…
The corner room is Ben’s Superhero room…
The next room is the completely undecorated second guest bedroom which also is used by Emily as her “dressing room”…
The next room you come to is the girls’ room… It’s a world of purple in there, and they are still happily sharing the room (but I’m sure having their own bathroom has something to do with their willingness to share…)
Mom put up a beautiful flowering tree on our wall…We love it!
Emily wanted the room to be purple, so Abby asked if the bathroom could be decorated in yellow… We haven’t painted it yet, but it’s turned out pretty cute!
Once you leave the girls room and walk back down the hallway past the playroom, on the OTHER side of the stairs (and the house, which Mom & Dad love), you will find the master suite…
Their bathroom is almost as big as their old bedroom was!
Actually, the closet isn’t that far off either…
Except for the basement and the backyard (which Mom will have to photograph another day), that’s our house! you will also find this as you leave our front door…
