I was beginning to think this was NEVER going to happen…
I pulled it out all by myself!
"Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away." - Welcome to our favorite Beach Family moments!
Now that it’s August, we are going to be busy people! Daddy had to go to Washington DC this week for work, so Mommy took us down to meet him for the weekend. Do you know what the best part was (except for the hotel of course)?!?!?!? We got to ride on a TRAIN down there!
Our train was 30 minutes late, so we were already hot, tired and hungry by the time we got on the train, but we still had a lot of fun! Especially trying to walk on the train and going to the bathroom while we were moving!
Ben spent the whole trip watching movies on Mommy’s iPad, which she was VERY happy about!
Emily did a lot of coloring, writing stories, playing hangman and tic-tac-toe with Mommy & playing games on her iPad.
Abby was busy reading, playing games, and trying to Facetime with her cousin Megan!
We loved watching all the sites as we zoomed past on the train!
Emily even tried to take a little nap since we got in later than we expected…
We had no idea that Union Station would look like this when we arrived… Emily said, “Woah… This must be super expensive!!!”
The first morning we were there, Daddy has to work, so we had a dance party in our room!
When Daddy came back, we played with him a bit too before heading out to see the Air & Space Museum (Mommy didn’t take any pictures there though… Sorry)!
On Saturday, we headed into Downtown DC to see all the monuments! Good thing Mommy & Daddy decided to do a bus tour, because we were tired walking from the train station to the bus stop! We got off to see the monuments we don’t usually see, and had so much fun! Our first stop was the Thomas Jefferson Memorial!
Abby is getting so good at taking pictures, that Mommy let her take some in the memorial!
Mommy snapped a few pictures of her Superheroes in Washington…
This little guy had a Batman shirt, Spiderman sunglasses, Captain America socks, Avengers shoes & Green Lantern underwear on! It’s hard to get him to wear anything other than superheroes these days…
We didn’t walk over to the Washington Monument this time, but we got some great views of it from the Jefferson Memorial!
After the Jefferson Memorial, we walked over to the FDR Memorial which is Mommy & Daddy’s favorite!
There were rocks, statues & waterfalls everywhere there! We loved it too!
We had lunch by the river too!
We stopped off in the Natural history museum for a bit, because Ben found a dinosaur on our tour map, and was obsessed with going there!
We all loved riding on the tour bus!
We got to see a lot of the monuments right from the bus without having to walk at all! It was awesome!
The Washington monument…
The Lincoln Memorial:
The White House:
Abby took some great pictures from the bus too…
We had an awesome trip, and this about just sums up how much fun we had…
Next stop: We’re heading to Chicago for Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kristie’s wedding!!!!!
For Brian's birthday this year, Nannie & Grandpa came for a quick visit and we went out for one of his favorite dinner experiences.....
