After touring Prague in the morning, we got on one of our familiar "homes" for our trip... one of two coach buses to drive us through the towns that were impassable by the river. Even though we were disappointed to not be sailing for the whole trip, we did see some beautiful sights along the way as we drove through the countryside.
We learned that the fields are filled with solar panels since 50% of their energy is green, using both wind turbines and solar power. Their goal is to be using 80% green energy by 2030. It is impressive!
We had our first glimpse of our ship, the Avalon Illumination when we arrived at the dock. It is SO much smaller than the cruise ships I've been on before, but we absolutely loved the smaller size!
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by all the staff waiting for us, and enjoyed a buffet lunch out on the covered deck... The rain you see in the picture was the only rain we would see on the whole trip!
I thought I'd share the daily menus with you so you could see all of our wonderful options, and how the chef changed the menu to provide us with traditional meals from the places we were visiting!
Cocktail hour on the ship was included from 5:45-6:45 pm every evening, and EVERYONE was always there for it!
